Bottom half looks great.. top half looks like something out a comic book. Not convincing! Please post the original!

I think the sky is too much. Too many things going on and competing. The bottom is a serene, calm, ethereal feel. The top is chaotic and strong feeling.

Thanks, I agree actually. Here's the original all I've done is correct the white balance.

please excuse my filthy image sensor, I've cleaned it since.

Did you take it using nikkor 50/1.8d at f22? The sensor is not contaminated, in the center of the image that big spot isrelated just with the lense at f22. My lense makes something exactly same .

Regarding to the pics unfortunately first one shows some over editing sins like not good quality on the sky and slightly lack of contrast in the bottom. My advice is try to avoid using that lens for long exposure captures . Wide lenses will give you much better contrast and full of details in the image. Dont let me wrong though, nikkor 50/1.8d is a great lens but using that is quite tricky and need specific weather conditions and post processing .

and I'm sorry to say the added noise effect doesn't do much for me in the edit cgipson, I can see what your going for but for me the noise is to much. Thanks for taking the time to edit it.

Yea.. it is a bit noisy.. or grainy since I tried to emulate Trimax400 ....lol! You should play with it more.. you may get a keeper!
