Wow we went from 90s to 40 this morning, and next week shows highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s. We are officially in the season of "the confused thermostat". Heat goes on the middle of the night, switch back to A/C in the day?

We're having some temp swings here, too - but no A/C needed during the day, at least. I do love this time of year, but have to remember to grab a sweater or jacket if we'll be out after sunset - the temperature drops like a stone!

Not quite used to being back in the North yet.

Farmers here are going crazy. Everything came in at once because of our crazy weather pattern this year. They're picking corn in one field, harvesting beans in another, and picking cotton in another. It's a mad rush to get it out of the fields before bad weather sits in.

Farmers are busy here too bringing in corn and soybeans. Road crew oil & chipped a few backroads near us and the dust is overwhelming. Got rain last night so that should settle things down a bit.

Haven't heard the start of the annual 'parade' of tractors going down the street to the mill yet. I'm not a farmer, just live near farms, must be too early for harvest yet - our weather never does anything predictable!

Not much different on my patch. Snowblower tune-ups+oil changes+belt checks this weekend--ugh!
Trying to hope weather will hold for a deck refinish but did get a new roof a couple weeks ago when it was still shorts weather. Not far from freezing most mornings now. Some new tiny alpine plants from Nova Scotia digging a recently knocked-together cold frame--kind of a C+ grade 8 wood shop effort but functional--maybe. So far it's really more about protection from squirrels and chipmunks.

I was sent this a few weeks ago so we are already last Second Summer, thank the goddess! This week, the weather is finally starting to get good. Cool and crisp. Jammin' summer can jam off.
