The Coffee House

I stand corrected. It appears tge ship had been loaded in Baltimore and was on the way out, so the photo is looking North. Not that it really matters.

Several of us have been discussing the fact that there were no tugs on the vessel. Someone said (no idea if they're right) that they guide ships coming in with tugs, but they leave under their own power. Bet there's some new rules after this.
Not sure. I figure the investigators will sort it out. I’m curious about the Pilot.

The tugs are just used for tight maneuvering, turning around and pushing /pulling on and off of the dock. When departing, once the ship is pointed the right way in a wide enough channel with no further tight maneuvering the tugs are let go.

According to this article it's up to the discretion of the Pilot on the boat when the Tugs are released. Could Key Bridge crash have been avoided if ship had tugboat guides? From the article it appears there are ships that are escorted past the bridge, but in this case the Pilot released them just prior to the accident. With the loss of life and destruction, I'm sure investigators will go over the Pilot's decision closely, as well as when and who first became aware of mechanical issues.

Sounds like the DOT or whoever sets the standards will need to rethink their rules and have all these large tankers escorted in and out past these type of bridges. The bridge I drive on to get into Boston doesn’t really see that type of water traffic because it is not between the harbor and the open ocean. Still makes me nervous every time I take it. But not as nervous as the tunnels!!

Daughter made me a Tshirt for my birthday. She took photos I made of the pups off of my Facebook page

Every year I print photos for the Grands' albums. They were over the other day and I heard again from them that there were no updated photos. I've been putting it off. I create a Print folder and go thru the photos from the previous year and copy the photos to the Print folder. Well, looks like I haven't printed since 2021 so spent a good two days going thru my files. When I get the print folder ready I sort by ratio into folders and wait for Mpix to have a sale. It just so happened the sale is today for 30% off. Sent just shy of 300 photos for printing.

My files are numbered by date example: 032524_001, 032524_002, etc. The file names are printed on the back of the photo for easy sorting to go into the album.

I really need to do this yearly. The oldest grand has an album with her infant photos. The other two wanted to know why they didn't have their "own" infant album. I told them they have infant photos in the other albums with their siblings LOL But, no they want their own. That would be another project for me for another day.

Sorry I have a bit of a rant. eBay now offers A.I descriptions....since people are so lazy and just want to make a quick buck, they use the A.I descriptions and most of the time you can clearly tell, it's often wrong and it just looks really bad. Why can't people just do it normally? Its much more authentic and I'd be more inclined to buy. It's depressing to me.

Yep, just because one can do something doesn't mean they should. We had an interesting discussion around the use of AI at work (I'm in Technology) and how easily it can be misused or misapplied, and the eBay thing is a good case point.

Looks delish, although I don't eat shrimp. Y'all have the right idea with the back yard camping thing. 👍

@jeffashman my son is head of IT for a large court system. The court systems are relying more and more on video. One concern of late has been AI and video conference calls, and the problems that could occur if an unauthorized user appeared as an attorney or judge.
