The Coffee House

Hey @Digger... Since you gave the fried cheese another go... I was at the store and saw this and decided it was time for me to also give it another go (I know it's not Vegemite but if I ever see it in a store, I will get it so I can compare.)

It is definitely still an acquired taste, but it wasn't so bad. Not as poisonous as I remember 😅 I had it on buttered toast.

Always saw this as a hardcore Brit prole staple for "tea." Right out of "The Road to Wigan Pier."

It so weird using a computer this much smaller than the 27" display I been so used to using for many years. I did plug it in to my monitor and tried to see if I could make it work as a regular PC like I been but it looked awful. The built in display of the MacBook is so nice that it made my monitor look bad lol. Makes me not want to use it anymore haha. At some point I may have to invest in a better display with HDR support.

But yeah so far I am having an overall positive experience. I do kinda like the smaller size, it does simplify things and makes it far more lighter + portable.

I've never had Marmite but if its anything like Vegemite one only needs a thin scraping of it on there toast.

Because of the local product named Marmite, European Marmite is sold by the name "Our Mate" in Australia and New Zealand. New Zealand Marmite uses the name "NZ-Mite" elsewhere.

No ones been stocking it in Australia atm it seems, theres a New Zealand Marmite we get here but looking at the ingredients its a totally different recipe.

I dont mind the wind, except for when Mrs Magpie has eggses or quackings in her nest. Wish the wind would P off, its been relentless for well over a full week!

Its supposed to die off on Tuesday.

Ps. 3/4 of the spring cleaning is done. Why cant the world be like one of NASA"s clean rooms. Dust free!

Anyone else started watching series 2 of the Rings of Power yet?

I really need to read my LOTR's books, I've tried but it's really heavy reading material.

I have a problem remembering the previous pages, ended up writing notes to help me🤣. Maybe when it's backyard camping time I'll give it another try.

I see no one's been drinking coffee😉.

Ps. Bloody hell it's been the windiest night out of the whole episode, 72km wind gusts. As soon as there's light im going up the road to check on her nest.

Ps. Edit, Mrs Magpie and her nest is good.

Pps. Looked out my window, stupid neighbour pruned one of my trees 1 foot into my property. Im pissed, left a lovely note for them to read!

Prune your side of the fence, not 1 foot into mine.

Would anyone like a hot cuppa tea🤪?

Poor Magpie must be miserable up there with the howling wind, rain & now hail. Supposed to be the last day of this weather.

Anyone in the northern hemisphere in a location where they get spring winds? Ours is from being so close to Antarctica, well the southern end of Aussieland.

Sometimes in Portugal, we'd get North African winds. Hot. Made you feel kinda restless. Can't remember if that was in spring or not.

Morning Hosers! Happy Labor Day to my fellow US residents.

We had a nasty sticky day yesterday - only in the low 80’s but humidity was off the charts. Today is going to be the same temps but only 46% humidity aka ideal humidity! It’s a gorgeous day!

Measured the backyard to see how much work, dirt and rock I will need to completely get rid of all the grass. I want a rock garden with a patio (covered?....gazebo? hand built of course) back there so all the grass that's left is that tiny patch in front.
BTW the little room off back is my new darkroom, pics soon.

Can you see it...?

Nice. Huge scope. Blank canvas. Make it your own.

Reading your post on my 15" MacBook Pro bought in 2016. I hope you like it for a long time!

Thats good to hear. Seems like they last quite a while...well hopefully.

First taste of fall today. Not too happy about that, not looking forward to it but am looking forward to not having to mow the lawn anymore lol. Trust me...sitting on the tractor for hours gets old after a while. Visited my brother at his campsite that seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere. It was even cooler there but was kinda cozy since we had a fire going. Took a walk around the campsite which is pretty big. Never been to a campsite like that.

On the way to the campsite, I stopped at a gas station that felt like has been the same since the 60s. The pumps were old enough that you could hear them and it was all dirt parking lot. Thought it was interesting but its the only gas station around this area!

Anyways it was a decent day, came back home and watched the new Ghostbusters! I liked it better than the last one.
