The Coffee House

Yesterday's dinner out, at 17 Celsius winter is not here yet

I used to like the local weather reports: “1 to 2” then an hour later “2 to 3” and again “3 to 5.” They could never make up their minds.

A couple people walking on the pond this morning. Quieter than the motorbikes and ATV driving in a circle, yesterday.

26°F here with a “feels like” of 20°. It’s been really really windy last night and again today. My wreath blew right off the door, the grill cover is gone (probably lost forever) and there’s tons of recycle blowing all around the neighborhood.

Man talk about confused!!! Now they're saying our area of the state will likely see 6" or more of snow Friday. Think I'm about ready, stocked up on groceries and adult beverages today. Tomorrow will go out to fill the generator gas cans, diesel fuel can for the tractor, and probably some more adult beverages just to be safe.😉

Priorities! Used to be around here when a big storm was predicted the longest lines would be at the liquor stores! They’ve gotten so good at clearing out the storms that it’s not really necessary any longer. I can’t remember the last time a big storm closed the stores. Blizzard of 78 is the last I can remember being truly snowed in and businesses closed for more than a day. Even during snowmageddon in 2015, everything stayed open.

@SquarePeg when you live 900 ft "above" the road to town and have to travel a 1/2 mile long steep winding driveway, even a dusting of snow can make things dicey.

I recently bit the bullet and joined a gym. So far so good. May have overdone it a bit today. But I am loving the included perks at the gym as well as the overall atmosphere. Yesterday I had a red light therapy session after my workout and today I tried the hydro lounger. Worth the monthly membership cost just for use of those!

Good evening Photopeeps! 32F and dropping here. Snowmaggedon expected tomorrow around noonish. The Governor actually declared a state of emergency and called up the National Guard, and all the schools are closed. IF, and that's a big IF, we get snow, it will only be 1-1.5 inches that won't stick, because the ground isn't cold enough. Oh, well. If I call in and say I can't make it to work tomorrow because of the snow, do you think it'll occur to them, "But Jeff, you WFH..."

The biggest downside of WFH is you can’t use weather as an excuse… unless you lose power 😉

Good morning! The leading edge has arrived and we have big fluffy flakes mixed with rain coming down. They are now predicting as much as 3-6 inches. The way that works here, is the rain will freeze and create a 1/4 inch layer, and then lightly cover it with snow to make it look innocent. Most folks here can't drive when it is warm and sunny, so definitely staying off the roads today.

From the National Weather Service. They change up every hour.
