Guess we've officially started the Christmas holidays. We've been binging on Christmas shows at Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg the last few days. One more tonight and one tomorrow and will be done

One of the reasons the "holiday season" is a time to stay home as much as possible. At least where I live it brings out the worst in many.

Two more shows today, one great. One meh. Headed home tomorrow, last trip for us till??? Start 7 weeks of radiation treatments 5/days a week on the 8th.

The TV is scheduled to be delivered and installed tomorrow. I've rearranged most of the furniture in the living room, taken 10 pounds of cardboard from deliveries to the transfer & recycling station, and found that the tenderloin I ordered is, in fact, garlic teriyaki. It sounds like it will be good.

I'm finally getting a passport. I had one in 1999 but never really needed to renew it. I have an appointment for the photo and application processing on Tuesday. I'm planning on a few trips to the Maritimes and Quebec, especially the Hartland Covered Bridge in New Brunswick.

There is a Christmas Light Parade with Jeeps up north on Saturday, and we are planning to attend. I may be pulling a trailer/float but will still have a polar bear in the bed.

My dear friend Britt and her Mom got me semi-observing the old Norwegian(and an even older Norse)custom of observing the Winter Solstice on Dec 21 and the 12 following days as celebration
of the sun's return--and Christmas. Legitimizes feasting, over-refreshment, socializing and general merriment. Pine boughs everywhere, especially around doorways. This pagan roots stuff can be fun!

Me this time, I had surgery in 2019. Claimed they got it all, apparently not as I've relapsed.

Busy week. I have a session for a friend's family tomorrow evening with the xmas set. I did test shots today with Boomer. Normally I don't do evenings, but they are crunched for time. They wanted photos before he does his military weeks soon and before he shaves

Thursday cooking a turkey breast for me and Boomer. Friday the gang arrives and on Saturday is family time & photos. We got a Honey Baked ham for Sat. Everyone will be tired of turkey by then. We haven't had the HB ham in decades and hope it is still good. I may break my no red meat. I am serving shrimp too so I won't go hungry. First year I am not making pies. Will buy this year.

A few years ago daughter offered to bring the pumpkin pies. Well no one ate them. Seems the baker forgot to add sugar. The local bakery is a one person operation with occasional help from family. I'm sure they were swamped at Thanksgiving. A very nice woman and we didn't say anything to her about the mishap.

@CherylL DIL never disappoints me...turkey and ham on the menu plus sides and deserts. Supposedly I'll be losing some weight in the near future, so I'll be stocking up! LOL

I've always like to have one non-tradtional dish when we put out our own spread. Usually I went Cajun, like shrimp jambalaya but this year (Friday) I'm going with a lobster pot pie. Now that we are in New England, it just seems right.

MLW and MLSIL started their drive up, this afternoon. MLSIL wanted to wait until the mail was delivered; her passport was scheduled to arrive. I should have mine in six to eight weeks. When spring hits, I'm going to take a ride up to Nova Scotia. MLSIL is a big fan of the TV show "The Curse of Oak Island" so I told he we can go there. We can swing into Halifax for a few sites and Lunenburg to see the Blue Nose II again. I can see myself going to the Atlantic provinces many times.
