I’ve seen Ripper Street. It was good. Belgravia was also good. Are they making additional seasons?

Ripper ended some time ago. Suspect Belgravia will win hearts among Downton fans. Loved "Penny Dreadful" that tanked a decade ago. Would watch Eva Green do a tub and tile cleaner commercial. Huge fan of the "Alienist" series. Probably too dark for many.

Many years of experience with trailer bearings and greasing. The EZ lube or Bearing Buddies are not the way to go. Even if you follow the directions inner or outer bearing will not get proper lube. Pull the hub, clean, inspect and pack the bearings (bearing packer is less than $10), replace the rear seal, reinstall and set the preload on the bearings. I do mine once a year on the RV, flatbed, and boat trailers. Doesn't take that long to do it right.

Old school: put wad of grease in the palm of my hand then rub bearings in that. Press, turn, repeat. I've seen the bearing cups with a Zerk but they are meant for boat trailers where wheels get submerged.

Magic. Saw something similar eons ago at a Mercedes dealer's garage. I use a vacuum pump extractor for oil changes on my VW Mk 7 Golf. Oil filter is topside. Pump tube goes down the dipstick pipe. Leaves about a shot glass of oil in the pan. Nasty abrasive stuff remains stuck on the pan bottom even with a plug-pull drain, so no problem. A fresh filter catches any lingering crud. Beats the mess and contortionist moves under the car.

I ordered a bearing packer.

I was going to go to the grocery store this morning and the truck decided nt to start. One click of the starter, and nothing. Lights and dash are fine but the main battery (there are two in the newer Jeeps) read low voltage. Popped the main battery, charged it up, put ecerything back and no change. The local dealer can't touch it until January, so it's getting towed to the south dealer tomorrow. I guess I'll go with crane driver, handle paperwork and give them the key, then ride-share back home. Now is when I really wish we had an empty, heated garage. MLW won't be here with other car until late on the 25th.

@snowbear It must be going around. My F350 was towed to dealer Friday. Claimed the fuel lift pump was bad. Did'nt order and replace until this morning, but still has low fuel pressure. Think they've been pulling the mechanic off my truck to much, had to have a little in person talk with the Service Mgr this evening.

The prodigal mod returns.

It's been a craptactular semester for reasons that will remain unsaid here lest I need to moderate my own posts, and it's not like the craptacularness is easing up, but I need to keep whatever scraps of sanity I have left, so I am back to remind myself that there's more to me than...well, than the rest of me that has to deal with the unnamed crap.

The truck ia at the dealer. The estimate is more than I was hoping, but both of the "needs immediate attention" are things that I know have to be done eventually, so I gave them the go-ahead. Unfortunately, MLW and MLSIL won't be here for a week so no car until then. I just took a little walk to the post office and back - about 1.6 miles (2.56 km) round trip. I'm glad the heavy packages came earlier or were delivered to the house.

Since the dealer is 40 minute drive (the closer one had dates filled until January), I told them no sooner than 11/26 would be good; save me a rideshare trip (at about $50).

@snowbear I think my dealer is having a tech shortage. Normally they aren't like this. There's no way the mechanic working on my truck has been working on it for 32 hours.
