Went to the Uni's gardens for prom photos Saturday. It was packed! There was a wedding group of about 40 people, another group of 25 by the lake, and of course 100s of prom kids and parents. There were 3 proms in our area that night. Parking lot was full, parking in grass, and the roads leading to the gardens full. I was able to get some nice shots. I used the 135mm so you couldn't see all the people to my left or right. Shooting thru a crowd. Everyone was respectful of taking turns getting photos. There were mostly cell phone photos and a handful of people with cameras.

Beautiful. I love the color of her dress. It really stands out in that setting.

Low 60s, cloudy and rain on the way. I have to take the old cabinets to the transfer/recycling center, and if it isn't raining, get some of the bins in the trailer to the basement. It's supposed to rain all week, except Friday.

Light rain here. Very light. I was out there in it for about an hour and barely noticed.

Beautiful. I love the color of her dress. It really stands out in that setting.

She found the dress at a consignment type boutique. Unusual color and perhaps from a few years ago? She got a lot of compliments on the color.

It has been raining and/or super windy last few days. Finally stopped today and I had a photo session for grand's BF with his cap/gown and with his marching band uniform. We had to wait to go on the field after a soccer match. It was cloudy and then full sun. I did the shady shots first and fortunately got a big cloud for the field shots. Normally I shoot at 2.0 and this session I was 4.0 to 5.6. I wanted to get the field and bleachers more in focus. He didn't have any senior photos done. I ran into a Mom that her daughter was in the homecoming photos I took last year. She still remembers me and my camera

A quick note is that photos are a luxury for some families. If they are a large family the school fees add up plus add in the cost of homecoming or prom or other events.

No rain, yesterday, and so far nothing today. I got the grass cut without actually getting stuck in the mud. A couple of slick spots but I was able to back out and go around them. I didn't do the section next to the pond; I'll hit it later with the trimmer or the push mower.

I spotted a black water bird on the dock. Maybe a cormorant or the scoter; I couldn't tell. I'm keeping an eye out for it.

I didn't get any pictures, either - but I did have two Baltimore Oriole sightings today - one female and later, a small male. Both very happy with the nectar I've put out. I hold off on putting jelly out there, because once that starts it's a madhouse out there.

Interesting timing on this post. A neighbor just gave me an oriole feeder and was telling me to use hummingbird nectar and grape jelly. I have never seen an oriole in my yard. It will be interesting to see if they suddenly show up! Any tips for keeping ants and yellow jackets away from the jelly?

Saw my fist hummingbird of the season today. Crappy cell phone pic but his red marking still glows!

We have a tray for Zoe's food dishes that fits over a basis that holds water (with a drop of liquid soap). I know there are supposedly ant-free feeders but I'm not sure exactly how they are configured.

Of course you will probably still get bees.

I've got a large heavy duty (the thing weighs a ton) vise my Pop used. I also have a smaller one my Grandpa used since the 1930's.

I will eventually set up both a woodworker's bench and a general bench (2x4s, 4x4's. 3/4" ply); I have Dad's GP vise from the MD house. For now I have a workbench-top toolchest.
