The Coffee House

Yeah... Mr. Brilliant here was knocking down apache paper wasp nests over the garage door and the patio... serves me right if I get stung... they can go build around the side of the house where nobody sits...
The wasps seem to like our grill getting in all the little holes of the framing. The end cap on the vynal fence post was cracked. My husband went to replace it there was a huge dormant nest in the post. Glad it was dormant!

That's how fast you can get into trouble with them! Yes, he's very lucky it was dormant.

after pondering the subject...my feelings

YIKES! Just got my annual blood test and my triglycerides are through the roof. Looks like I need a low carb diet and more exercise.
Good for you to have gone in for a checkup - hopefully this will be reversed now that you have a plan. It can be easy to fall into bad habits. Hopefully your doctor didn't scold you too much. ;)

Just stick to booze and pills--the original Courtney Love diet. Trim as a greyhound in no time!
Laffs aside, do take care of yourself! Film-wise, you're a Japanese-style "Living Treasure!"

If there are any hills near you I highly recommend walking them. When I moved from flat walking to hills, my health and stamina improved at a much faster rate. Minimum 8k steps a day is best.

Good to catch things early. I waited way too long and couldn't prevent some things. I am trying to keep them in check.

An old acquaintance asked me to shoot his model train set up. He has been working on it for 30 years and sounds elaborate with waterfalls and lights. Not my usual flower and pups, but I'll try my best to get wide shots and closeups. Last week after the greenhouse photos my shoulder was sore. I have to be careful and next week is prom photos. Today will be another good test on how and how long I am able to shoot.

I hope it works out for you. Do you have a tripod?

Try a shot "down the tracks" at one of the locomotives (parked, of course).

When I moved I dug out my 10-speed bike from storage (needs tires and adjustment). Thinking of making it stationary in the basement room I'm making (hobby/craft room) so to use it year round.

I was able to take photos without discomfort. I had to switch wearing the strap to my right shoulder. The strap is a Black Rapid women's and the curve is for the left side, but was ok on the right side. On the right the curve is backwards. Good practice for upcoming Prom photos.

Massive train display on 3 tables. I had the 50mm and even some photos at f8 there was still blur because I couldn't back up. He was very happy with the photos. I think I ended up with about 50 and focused on the details. I added steam to one engine.

Wow - someone did indeed work very hard on this elaborate set! Very nice photos - I'm sure they'll be happy.

So good to know you got through this shoot without anything bugging your shoulder. Best of luck for the upcoming Prom shoot!

Hosers. It's the last day of April already - this month galloped by so fast I can hardly believe it!

Landscaper coming by sometime today to give me a price for ripping out a couple of dead trees, as well as the front garden stuff I've never liked and don't want. (Hostas, hydrangeas aren't my jam.)

She will also have some ideas/plans for what best to plant in this North-facing front garden that will give the place a more cottage-garden feel. It's been sadly neglected since I moved in, and those hostas are now totally out of control - 4-foot wide monsters, and a whole line of them, choking each other out. They're taking way too much real estate out there.

Exciting! Expensive! Eeek!

We had our front landscaping done a few years ago. It was 20 years old at the time and got to the point that you couldn't trim bushes back anymore. I have a set of hostas in a tree ring backyard. They were given to me by an elderly friend neighbor that I helped out. She has been gone for 25 years now and I think of her when I see the hostas.
