Howdy Folks! We are back from our annual road trip to Nashville, Cincinnati, and Richmond VA. Took the camera, but not much in the way of photos… too many family activities. We were inside almost the entire time because the hear and humidity were pretty oppressive. Even the Smokies and the Blue Ridge Mountains were unpleasantly hot. We spent the 4th with my inlaws in Mt Juliette, but stayed inside. Actually found a great little Mexican restaurant in Mt Juliet that passed the Texas test, and will visit there again the next time we go that way.

Here the fam and extended family, I’m fourth on the right with the hat. We went to the Galaxy Diner in Carytown, Richmond and had some decent food and refuge from the oppressive heat and humidity. Yes, we’re MiB… Right to left, my brother, my sister, my wife, me, my #2 son, my niece, my granddaughter, my sister in law, and my nephew.

How the hell did I miss this? Similar crew landed at the family ruin last summer. Called Orkin. Problem solved!

Lisbon, Maine has their Moxie Festival this weekend. For those not in the know, Moxie was created by Dr. Augustin Thompson of Union, Maine. It was originally marketed as a patent medicine in 1876 in Lowell, Mass. In 1884, he placed it in the new soft drink market. It is flavored with gentian root, which gives it a unique flavor (I say burned diesel fuel). It apparently has a dedicated following in Maine, and as far as I know, is not widely distributed outside New England, though Son #1 found a couple bottles in Oklahoma.

Today I went to the parade, alleged to be as the longest parade in Maine, and called the "Two-Hour Traffic Jam" along State Route 9. A few snaps of the event. The Moxie can is predominately orange so there were a few orange shirts and hats.

I find it interesting that some of Lisbon's Fire and EMS apparatus is also orange. Check out the windshield banner on the Tender/Tanker

I have a friend who lives in Auburn Maine, super guy. Had my morning coffee and bagel.. I’ve gone from listening to Dick Barton special agent on the radio, in my much younger years, watching the first moon landing on the tv and driving a Maserati..
Next, maybe a camera that hears my thoughts and sets itself up and takes the Picture!!
