I tried to be hip with the BOKEH and adding some cheesy text in the out-of-focus area... oh lord...

Did it turn out at least half okay? First time I've ever done something like this. It looked nice to me but I'd like some other opinions and feedback.

Not enough detail in the subject for me to even know what I'm looking at.
Your text helps, but then I still don't know what I'm looking at.

There was a time when I was in love with bokeh.
I still feel like a very shallow depth of field works well for certain images.
I mostly shoot from f/4 to f/8 these days.

This really doesn't work for me.

Ooops... I thought I wrote down what the subject was...

Anyway, it's an old hunting knife. The focus lays on the tip of its edge. Literally - the part which cuts stuff.
I used a magnifying glass in front of the kit lens(18-55mm) to zoom in on the blade. I thought it's pretty cool to have a photo of the edge of a knife, and quite literally.

I like it, but I would have made sure the curved tip was captured to better understand it was a knife and cleaned up the edge of the blade. The black and white works..
