Will it be possible to have a round sensor in the future?
You won't ever need to tilt to get a portrait! Any aspect ratio of your choice! Any crop factor of your choice!

Sounds to me like what we had with the square format.

Fisheye lens is very different from a round sensor... two different discussions.

A round sensor doesn't impact the perspective and doesn't accentuate distortion.. simply a discussion on the shape of the recording surface. Theoretically (probably unrealistic) it can be used for general photography while a fisheye lens is very specific use. (Let's not even start about KR site)

No.. because the perspective and distortion of such a lens would still be present in the crop.

The one you linked is circular there are also regular or full. Both are used for the distortion they produce.
