The Wetlands - Evansville, IN C&C

In both 1 & 2, you have strong compositional tools, ie the framing converging lines in 1 and the strong diagonal in 2, but they end up not serving a real purpose.

1 is just begging for there to be something in the middle of the frame, a duck in the water, a kid at the end, etc. 2 begs for there to be a subject at the bend in the walk, but again it's empty.

I know there may not have been a whole lot you could do at the time, but these are just things to look for.
