Thoughts on D4?

I just watched Jared Polin's video on the D4, and was wondering what your guys' thoughts are?

some specs:

16.2 megapixels FX CMOS Sensor
10 FPS
100-12,800 ISO up to 204,800 in H4
1080p 24/30 Video
720p 60 Video
New WT5 Wireless
3.2" screen

Because its $6kThe majority of people here will not be buying it, and I'd say a good part might not even be buying the D800.

Woah. This is an absolutely phenomenal piece of kit! I hope the D800 has all the video features, with ISO capabilities 1-2 stops better than the D700. If this is the case (or even if it matches the D700's ISO), it will be a photographer/cinematographer's dream (as long as it retains sRAW as well). This is a beautiful camera, a beautiful upgrade for anyone without one. I can't wait to see what the D800 has in store (as this is the one I'll be buying.)!

Well, I do know one thing. The HD Video samples are phenomenal. I don't know how they manages super duper ultra fantastically sexy slow-mo at 5:00 in the video sample:

Not inherently. The sensor in the D800 will be, relatively, double that of the D7000. The D7000 isn't terrible in low light. The D800 is supposed to be 1-2 stops better than the D700, which was exactly as good as the D3 (used same sensor).

But it has 3x as many MPs as the D700. Who the hell is going to use 36MPs? And it's supposed to be $4k? Might as well hold out for the D4.

They finally announced it. Luckily, I still think Canon's 1DX is still the better camera so I don't have to have any brand envy like I did with the D3. Ha.

OH GOODIE!!! The not-yet-released Canon 1DX has been declared to be the better camera over the not-yet-released Nikon D4 by a Canon shooter!! Woo-hoo!!! Canon will be sooooo happy to hear that you've weighed in on this issue! That 25 cent astroturfer's check ought to clear Japan customs very soon. Very soon! lol
