Time to put the heating on?

warmed up to -30c this am.

OUCH!!! There would be utter choas in the streets if it ever got that cold in MS.

Pretty much every year we get a big lump of snow dropped on us and it always makes people go mental. There was a pretty bad one almost a couple of years ago though, where people got trapped over night in their cars.

it snows here like once every 4 or 5 years and everyone is at home drinking hot chocolate and having a blast....We get ice storms everyonce in a while. those suck really bad. falling trees and no power.scary stuff.

You had that big cold snap a while ago in America didn't you. Where lots of you lost electricity because power lines froze and snapped or something?
That doesn't seem to happen to us. Not the cold, just the losing power thing. If it does it's normally localised. We do get the cold and the big winds though. We have them to look forward to. :mrgreen:

You know what is really screwy...the temp is gonna be in the 60's tomorrow. My body cant handle these crazy fluxes in temp. Oh my sinuses.

I'm going to have to relocate. Been out and about all day and it's been raining with snow in it (we can't just have ONE type of weather at a time in the UK). I couldn't feel my fingers.
The worst thing is all the salt they put down on the roads here. You can't see out of your windscreen and the car rots as you drive.

They're experimenting with some new stuff. It's not got any salt in it so is better for the enviroment. It's the same stuff they've been using in America for years.
Am I right in thinking it's sugar based?

This is England. You just know it's going to make things worse (and probably stick the cars to the road)

In this room right now it is 17°C or 63°F. Outside the BBC website says it's 4°C where I live.

Brrrrrr. And yes, my toes are going numb.

The front of my medical office has warmth, but back here, my own office and a patient exam room have zero heat. I've called the maintenace people, but there is only one guy working this week (cursed holidays) and I was told he is "covered up".

I'm going out to get myself a space heater after work......my fingers and toes are numb!!!!

It is extremely cool today at noon it was around 56F (13c for the backward ones) in South Florida. Time to put out the space heaters.

Patient exam room with no heat? Yikes.... I'm imagining paper gowns and no heat. Oh my.

Don't mind me though, my imagination runs away with me all the time.
