Absolute WOW moment - my daughter, Ruby (AKA TinyTogger, aged 7) has just scored 19/20 with EACH of her images in the our Camera Club's "Red" competition!

How proud am I?

Good grief. Imagine how good she's gonna be by the time she's an adult. Never mind that, by the time she's a teenager there will be no competition left for her.

Outstanding. Truly outstanding. At her age, I was taking stuff that would give today's Instagram cr*p a run for its money. I *still* don't take anything as good as ^^^THOSE^^^; just incredible.

Thank you, Derrel. She thrashed me, as my entries managed only an 18 and a 16 out of 20. And mine were of semi-naked wimmin, so you'd have thought I miht have done better...ha ha!

Oh yes, she often does things, or says things, then says "So stick THAT on your Facebook, dad!" She takes no prisoners. ha ha!

I hope she keeps the bug, and doesn't give up. As she gets older there are many distractions and sometimes these hobbies get lost, don't they? I will keep encouraging and teaching her, anyway.

We basically had a studio learning session in my studio. I showed her snoots and grids, helped her set up the background (which included climbing up to suspend the cloth and hefting the sheet of glass about the room) and then she set up. I acted as assistant for the shots - and I dropped the strawberries. She got to eat them after. :/
I can't say I had no input, but it was just as you would do in teaching anyone in the studio. I have no problem in my conscience stating they were her shots.

Thank you. She did well, as she used my 1D with the 75-300 zoom for that...not light. But I showed her before how to hold, and brace, a camera, so she did it the right way.
