Spent some time at the state capital this morning. This was the only one I really cared for at the end of the day.

Nicely composed. I like that there seems to be motion blur in the lower right - as if the stairwell was being flushed down the toilet.
(I know - awful way to describe it*, but I don't mean it in a bad way. Quite the opposite.)

The curves are so well aligned - a very nice image.


* most likely why I'm never invited back to wine tastings.

Lower right is all OOF.... the camera was right up against the wall.

This wasn't the easiest to take. It was a narrow corridor to start with, and I was in a little pie-shaped wedge of floor at the top of the stairs. I wanted to get the full curve of the stairs below, so ByronBrant (who was with me) started to straighten out my tripod legs. Since I had the model that allowed the center column to 'drop' 90°, we ended up laying the entire tripod & column flat against the top rail of the stair with the camera hanging out about 3'. I had to view the LiveView at an oblique angle, and used a remote with mirror up for a 3 second exposure. It took a little finagling with the tripod head to get the composition I wanted.

We should have taken a photo of the camera & tripod while it was all still in place.
