Tranferring pictures from computer to SDHC card

Hey,

for at least 3 hours ive been searching google and still got no answer.

I want to transfer pictures from my pc to my SD card, and see the images on the card when i put it back in.

What happens is that i can store the images in the card but my camera cant show them ... what can i do?

It's not going to work, at least not on a Nikon but I don't know about Canon. As stated in the owner's manual of Nikon cameras (although I cannot find it now that I'm looking for it), once images are removed from the SD card they cannot be put back and read from the camera.

I don't know, and as I said I can't find where in the manual it states that. I do remember reading it when I got my D90 though.

Cameras are made to only view images written by that camera (Brand/model). So if you took original photos and put them back onto the card, the camera should read them. But if you edit them in any way, the camera won't read them....but they can be stored on the card.

There should be a way to format pictures to a pattern readable by the camera using a converter, the same language that the camera itself uses to write.

Amazing how there are converters for everything, even for those formats nobody knows about ... and on something this relevant theres no way to do it.

The only way it will work (with a Nikon, at least) is if you put an unedited and unrenamed image file back into the DCIM folder/Named Subfolder.
