Anything that I am checking goes into a pelican case as those are incredibly tough. I would never ever check anything valuable that was in a soft bag.

I do also ship pelican cases and it is less expensive than checking them.

The Pelican cases are really tough!
When I was working I had 6 Pelican 1600 cases for shipping sets of preconfigured server hard drives to many different locations and after 6 years of shipping the cases where still intact and never had issues with the hard drives on location.
