Tree Swallows

I have a few bird houses around the yard and thought I would shoot some swallows, when I looked at the photos I realized that my camera was set on -0.3 EV. What a mess, oh well here they are anyway. As always CC welcome.

They were sitting on the house mount.

Beautiful Swallow shots and great colours. Nice clear shots and good details showing.

I agree with Mike, they need more room. I always try and give more room in front of the bird and below it. I know a lot of people like to crop tight so the bird ends up larger in the frame, but that's also a trap visually often. If you have the room in the crop, just give a little more space and avoid those tails being slightly cut off . That -.03 EV shouldn't make a great deal of difference if you are shooting RAW.

Yes I know what you mean about the tight crop, but the back ground was terrible so I had to go with a tight crop.

Ahhh well that's fair enough. I often get caught with buildings in the backgrounds around the estuary, so I understand
