Tripod Reccomendations?

Ok so I have a Canon PowerShot SX130 IS and currently use a cheap flimsy camera tripod that is good but demoralising as my photographic skills increase. I am pretty short of money at the minute and I need a decent, strong/sturdy tripod.

Has anyone got any reccomendations? Links if possible please

It depends; are you going to stay with this relatively light bridge camera, or do you forsee migrating to a DSLR in the future? As well, what is your budget? "Short of money" probably means something different to you than to me, or someone else.

Manfrotto is a good name in tripods, and you really can't go wrong with any of their gear. Determine the weight of your heaviest lens/body combination and buy a tripod & head that is rated for at least twice that.

Tripods are a great buy used; look on Craig's List, Used.... and eBay.
