Trying to choose a camera

Hello all!
I recently have gotten back into photography, and I have starting with newborns. I upgraded my rebel XS to a rebel t5i recently, but when buying it, I was having a hard time deciding between the t5i and the 70D. I have some time to exchange it so my question is, which one would be best and why? There's about $500+ difference between the 2 so it's a huge investment for me. Please help!

It's more about light, reflectors etc with newborns. The 70d is more rugged and has a more complex af system, but with the correct lenses and lighting there is nothing the 70d can do over the t5i in a controlled environment, such as you'll use for Baby photography.

I recommend using the 500 for props, lighting and other necessities.

70D and T5i has very close image quality and low light performance, there will not be a big upgrade for you thus if you really want to go up a level I recommend going to the full frame 6D which I am not sure if you will want.
The T5i has the capability to make very good pictures but what many people don't understand is the learning curve to really get those pictures.
You need the equipment and know how and that can take a long time, no camera will give you amazing shots without you really knowing how to use it to its full potential.
