I was amazed at how close I was able to get to the hawk.

He did fly down to eat something, I think a grasshopper but I didn't catch the capture.

We have a surprisingly large amount of Red shoulder hawks nesting in our area...being in the city close to downtown. They don't seem to mind being around people I guess.
 
Hunter, great shots. I really like the first one - I can almost feel the eyes staring at me out of the image.

That is cool.. And all I got were more shots of wild turkeys this weekend.. :)
 
How did you manage to get chosen to test market that lens? From my understanding, there aren't but 50 in the whole of the USA. They are on pre-order everywhere I look and even my friend the Sigma salesman can't get his hands on one...I am green with envy. The shaprness of these images is testament to what good glass will do.

I'm not using the new 150-600. My lens is the 150-500 that's been around for a while, plenty of these to buy if you want one.
