Very Confused...

OK, so I know these are not of the greatest quality, but I am looking for something to just play around with so £10-15 is not breaking the bank to me whereas £100-150 is. So just playing around with cheap Chinese knock offs whilst I get used to my camera etc etc.

However, I have trawled this site, eBay and Google and am more confused than when I started. What I am looking for is a x2 converter for the end of my Tamron 80-210 lens. For the end, not the part by the body.

I have bought a step up ring from 52-55 so I can also use the parts from my Sony 18-55 on the Tamron.

The problem I am having is knowing what this part is called? It says on eBay that it is a Tele Lens Converter.

But when I Google that it comes up with the one that sits between the lens and the body. It has also been described as a tele extender.

Can someone please clarify, don't rip into how crap they are, I'm only messing with them, bought the wide angle one for the end too for £10, so just playing around to see what I use more so I can save for a better lens.

Anyway, I digress, yes, clarification on these terms and pieces of equipment please?

Those that screw on the end of the lens, regardless of the name used, can all be classified as "Junk". They are primarily for cameras without interchangeable lenses such as the point-and-shoot and bridge cameras.

When using a DSLR the true teleconverters that go between the lens and camera body are the ONLY way to go. Be aware that buying a cheap one is simply a good way of throwing money in the trash because they will ruin the quality of your photographs. They are optical devices, and any photograph will only be as good as the worst optical device in the light path.

The close up lens attachments (that you've also linked to) are great from Raynox - the wide angle attachments and teleextenders I've no experience of - though I'd expect them to be well made, if still a bit debatable as to if they are worth using on a DSLR because of the quality drop

Well for me it's this or nothing, It is a hobby, I cannot spend hundreds of pounds on something I will only play with, unfortunately!

yes older version ive had it about 8 years but never used it looks the same though
