Part of what I wanted to do today was taking some more photos around the Mission district here in San Francisco and, well, I didn't get any true 'keepers' but here's some of what I saw walking around today

No deeper meaning behind this than that I liked how the light from her cell phone reflected up to her face.
I also kind like the flowers and the men behind her.

When you visit coffee shops in San Francisco you'll encounter a lot of laptop campers that use coffee shops as an extended office - even though I'm pretty sure most are just designing a new website for the uncle in Maine or updating their blog. You are however often stuck by how young everyone in this city is.
I call this photo "Soylent Green" - and if you get that reference you're over 40

Believe it or not but it's still possible to get a haircut in this city for $8.
Make me wonder why I pay $40.

There is a window that have displayed these yellowing, fading clippings for years.
I'm still not sure what it is for. Obituary photos?

Anyway, that was my day.

Tacos, coffee beans, photos and a lot of sun

I like the last two the most...There's a lot of irony in the haircut one...A guy that simultaneously doesn't have hair, yet needs a hair cut, while they are readily available for hardly more than what that cup of coffee he's drinking probably cost.

And the last one is pretty cool, I'm sure there's quite a story there!

i know soylent green, but i don't get the reference in the title. in no way does it represent/mimic the issues in the book.

It is indeed Philz. Good catch.

Oh, by Soylent Green I meant that anyone over a certain age is killed and turned into food and city consists of just young people.

there's a bit more to it than that; very dypostian.

but yeah, loved that place. cool little gem. I still craze it.

photos 2 & 3 are good, nice record of people, time and place, even the backdrops to the main subjects are great and the B&W is perfect to min distraction

Regarding #4, he certainly got his money's worth!
