I'm selling my old D3100 I have a three year warranty which has 2 more years on it. Does it transfer to new owner if I sell? Can anyone direct me into an official answer possibly from Nikon or authorized dealers. I could only find he said she said information that didn't seem to be reliable.

AFAIK, the warranties are not transferable.

I know Canon warranties are not transferable... I would kind of expect it to be the same for Nikon. 3rd party warranties usually are transferable though.

Extended warranties are usually sold by 3rd party vendors and have a variety of terms. Usually it is the more expensive ones that are transferrable.

What company is the extended warranty with?

Extended warranties for consumer electronics are generally not considered a good purchase

I dealt with best buy and going to go dig up the receipt see if it says anything about the warranty company. I just bought the 3 year warranty on my new camera with BH
