wow Robert...most impressive work! isn't that the coolest building in #2?

love your exposure control on Lincoln!

Yah, I have like 8 shots of that building, I'm still playing with the processing on it, LOL.

Exposure control? LOL, I blew him out like everyone else does I'm sure, WOW he's tough to get right!!! Thank goodness for RAW, LOL!!!

I am back home ... have been for about three hours and a half, of which I have slept three hours, now I still feel all "wrong" but if I stay in bed, I'll never sleep tonight and will never overcome the jetlag.

What a great time we had over in the States!
And to be meeting all those people that I didn't know before and yet knew them so well ... it feels so funny to meet people you have never seen before (in person) and yet you feel you know them, they are absolutely no strangers to you.

My photos are all on Andreas's laptop computer and in the plane home he broke the terrible news that he does not know how to transfer them from there to here so I can start working on them, other than burning them on RAM-DVD, but a suitable DVD device for that would only be at his work, which is where he only returns next Tuesday  (!). He is thinking about trying out other things, but he is in bed right now, still sleeping, so for the time being... no photos from here. But after I have seen your photos up here, I feel way too self-conscious to put up mine, anyway :blushing: ... compared to all I have seen here so far, they are ... blah! Nothing. Not worth the mention.

But you shall see.
After all, we have also been to New York before we went to the "international" (judged by actual TPF members I was the only REALLY international one, unless you count the Texans as from a country of their own ;) :greenpbl: ) meet-up, and we stayed on in DC for longer (we met up with Joe, Sky and JonMikal on Sunday afternoon, and we had all of Monday to ourselves and Tuesday morning, i.e. yesterday, before we had to go all the way back to JFK airport). There should be SOMETHING to show ... eventually.

Edit:
Oh my! I so totally overlooked the page 2 that this thread already has!
More super photos up there. Wow. And I was already so impressed with what I saw on the first page. Now there is more to enjoy. And more reason to get all self-conscious about my pics ... that I might not get to see on a "real" computer with a good screen until next week  --- oh please, say that is not true! (But the man to bring the photos up into my computer is still and still and still sleeping ;))

OH my... you all took wonderful pictures... and... wait a moment... did I read somewhere above that you used your mobiles to find each other? Does it mean that you got LOST???? Another meetup where folks got LOST????

Mentos...it's pretty hard to keep 20 people all together! Yes, we all used our cell phones quite a bit. It was rather funny, actually. When I first got there, and was still in the airport, I had three voicemails...one from Jeff finding out if I was off the plane yet (he picked us up from the airport), one from a guy that is doing everything he can to sell me a damn car, and one that didn't leave a name....all it said was "Are ya here yet? Are ya here yet? Are ya here yet? Are ya here yet?" I later found out this was Chase's doing. :P And I recieved about 2-3 more calls in the short time between then and when I got to the rendevous point! Funny stuff. I think I got more use out of my phone this weekend than I ever have!

Ah here it is, the photo about which I heard it was up here by JonMikal himself when we met on Sunday afternoon. Took me a while to find it but I did in the end and I hope I may copy it out of this thread onto my harddrive to "have" it? I shall cherish this one forever :D. Thank you so much for taking it, Michael. I was so happy when you folks suddenly were there when we stepped out of the Natural Science Museum on Saturday evening! I hope you realised that?

Aleksandra. It was a TPF meet-up, after all! What did you expect? You thought we'd all just find our ways round there easily? We did, in the end. Like we did in the UK last August. But several of us took several "scenic routes", got the different Marriott hotels of west of DC mixed up, or missed roads and suddenly no longer knew where they were ... and guess what: some were even travelling WITHOUT a cell phone. Now THAT made things funny! ;) (Guess who those were!?!?!?)

That's ok, we just kept an eye out for BRIGHT GREEN! :D

"Bright Green" would so want her photos transferred from the laptop computer to here, but the man to bring it about (or not !?!?!?!) is STILL sleeping... should I wake him up?

great shots everyone....would have loved to be there. You all looked really happy in the shots, cant blame you though. It must have been a great time with all those TPF-ers.
Hope to see more shots, cant get enough of them :)

more great shots from everybody... impressive stuff...
