If you don't have a Canon or Nikon in hand, you are among the few..

What can I say? I like to be different.

Yay Pentax!
Pentax doesn't advertise so I think that's one of the reasons its not very popular. I'm just waiting for them to come out with a full frame :) Even though all but one of my lenses would be pointless...
They have this nifty interactive ad, lol. There are hardly any brick & mortar stores that carry Pentax, reportedly due to the dealer having to actually buy the stock before sale- hence, the dealers tend to talk the brand down to their customers. So a lot of folks think they went out of business back in the '80s. I love 'em though, and also the fact that all my decades-old lenses fit my new DSLR bodies. Probably, shooters not interested in prime lenses would never go for one anyway.

For 35mm I use Canon EOS and FD mount cameras most of the time but will pick up a Pentax or Minolta or Nikon when I feel like something different.
For Medium Format, it's Bronica in the main 3 sizes and Kodak for something different.
Large Format boils down to either Century or E. & H.T Anthony.

Started with Minolta (now part of Sony), then went to Canon, and finally moved to Nikon.

Back in high school, we used Pentax film cameras. When I purchased my camera last summer, I was considering the Pentax K-X and the Nikon D3000. However, I went with the Canon Rebel XS, as it just felt better. I don't really see myself switching, 'cause I've bought into the Canon system now.

But it's not the camera that makes the photographer, it's the photographer who makes the camera.

Another Pentaxian here.

I've been using Pentax for the last 12 years, ever since I got my mom's K1000. So being able to use my old lenses on my digital was a huge selling feature for me.

I own the KM, which is a FANTASTIC little camera.

And the fact that very few of their digital bodies can contend with Canon or Nikon offerings. Some of them are great (spec-wise...I haven't used them) but most of them can't compare. Marketing does nothing if the cameras can't compete.

Canon here

First time DSLR here and went to a major camera store here in MN and tested out a few and with my 'man hands' I found Canon to be more comfortable. So for now... Canon...
