Too dark... but you have already heard lots of that.

Too me the suit doesn't look "wrinkled" so much as just the fabric is one of those that is highly reflective and will exaggerate every little bend and fold. It definitely takes away from the subject. (pants are a little wrinkled but, not much you can do about it)

If the focus could survive a tighter crop, you could always try chopping it down to a head shot. Mayhem doesn't really break loose attirewise until you get down to the elbows. The little shirt, tie blazer ensemble is pretty cute until then.

Cgipson - Just saw your posts. Seriously you should teach a class on how to edit photographs. Love how you blew out the background to pure white and softened the suite.

This was White Seamless right? At least as best I could tell it was.

cgipson1, I appreciate the input and the edit. On my monitor your edit looks significantly overexposed so I will certainly benefit from the calibration tool. I also have an untrained eye - photography is a fairly new hobby for me.

Tim, the background is close to blown.. intentionally! You did say you shot for a white background in your OP, so that is what I went for. The subject is close to what I would consider a good exposure, but we all vary on that a little bit. If he looks over to you, then yes, you probably need to calibrate. We see a lot of that!

I am always glad to answer questions! But I am really a rookie at photoshop... there are others here who know a LOT more than I do about it. I am assuming iit was white seamless, yes.

I liked the gray background, so I selected the kid and did a simple +1.4 exposure on him.

I like the gray too. This looks very good to me and my uncalibrated monitor. I can see detail in his face.

Yes, I did shoot with a white background. But I'm ok if, based on my lighting position, it moves to gray or even black. The original edit was never intended to have a pure white background - it was a rogue edit brought on by my boredom (as I mentioned).
