What's new

What is this missing!?

wait is this photoshopped onto a roof? like the pointy part? That took me a while to see.

It is missing the levitation shot hahaha.. It is has been pretty popular on TPF lately.

You want a witch with a big full moon... so add a big full moon to all that blue space; nobody says you have to do it all with a single image... ;)

About the levitation stuff....

Brooke Shaden was on framed, she does levitation and different photography with a bunch of P.S. pretty awesome stuff!

Thanks all for your critiques! No this wasn't photoshopped on. We were actually on a roof to my studio. Heres another shot. I agree she doesn't look stable... she looks almost tetering.. I guess because she was.... Anyways the white spot is the moon which wasn't shopped either... but maybe I can find a HQ image of a huge moon and photoshop it in?

I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way, but it looks like someone went to the top of the building with their DSLR and snapped a pic of their friend in a Halloween outfit.... It is not a bad picture there is just nothing that makes me want to stop to look at it longer then 1/2 a second to figure out if that tiny spec in the back right sky is a moon or what???

What lens did you use?

yes.... thats exactly what I did of course. ;)

What do you all mean by longer focal length? I should have zoomed in?

No, the moon should have been bigger. Longer focal length would make the moon larger and and shallower depth of field, if the roof is large enough.

Yes, 101th time I have told you lol. Well, if you go farther and zoom in (vs closer with wider angle), you will isolate the background more because you viewing angle is smaller. So in this case you could have made the tower bigger. You will also notice the subject body will be more flattering. Right now her legs look like you shot it facing down so you see distortion a bit.

Dramatic lighting to go with the subject

what are you talking about?

It needs good lighting, Darken the sky down by using a higher shutter speed and introduce some nice lighting (flash)

I have to admit...I have so much trouble using flash outdoors. SMH :( I bought my speedlight and a reflector up on the roof to bounce it off of... but I just cant get it exposed properly.

Well schwetty.. it takes 101 times for me to finally get it. I'll think of you when I shoot at smaller focal lengths. *Back up and zoom in* I never thought of that as a solution. Ill see how that goes in my studio though...

Your exif says you used 28mm focal length. if you use a longer lens, it will bring the background closer to her, that cross on the tower will probably be the size of her head and it will look way better.
