From my new D600, do you think the spots in the top left are the sensor oil/dust that i hear about? They come out pretty strong in HDR images.

You have a very dirty sensor.

sure looks like it. Take a OOF shot of a bright white wall... or a OOF shot of a cloudless blue sky with nothing else in the frame. Use a small aperture F22.... this will really show you where all of the specks are.

Cleaning a sensor is easy... I had the same problems on my D7000.
