What's new

What kind of Style or PP would you call this?

If you want to do this in photoshop, click the link below. I threw together an image tutorial.

If your using a mac, "CMD" instead of "CTRL". Experiment with that you amount the pull the curves up and down, desaturate as you please. The key to this style is high contrast, blueish lows, and low saturation (sometimes high).

I literally THREW that together so my apologies. ;p

Is there a way to do the same type thing in LR3? I tried to play with the tone curve but couldn't seem to find a way to pick the particular colors of red, green, blue, etc.

You used to buy a style when you purchased a certain kind of film. A lot of photographers shot Kodachrome.. you could say they copied one another even. Digital post work isn't very different in my opinion. It rubs me the wrong way when people try to sell actions for some reason though.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering if I was the only one who was disturbed by that lol...

Why in the hell would you SELL something that everyone has access to? Wow, you spent your precious time recording how you post process an image... And most of them are "adjustable" anyway because most actions you can't even stop with just applying it. You have to change levels, hue, saturation, etc...

Why not just make a tutorial or something to help others? IDK... I guess I feel like it's better to help people who are "new" and don't know what they're doing or they want to try new things... Paying for actions is dumb when you can use an action once or twice and then know exactly what to do to get the result without using the action...

...Most of those are what I would call 'blown out'.

It happens thousands of times every day (much more than that, I'm sure).

Bottled water is huge. Water is free all over the place... I have to pay for it at home, but it's still cheap as hell. Nothing compared to $1.50 for a 12oz bottle...

Most of the programs on your computer - there is a free, open source alternative - but hardly anyone uses them...

Most people like paying for stuff. If it's free, they can't brag to their friends about how much they paid for it...

I wouldn't really call it a style... It's just your typical artificial digital commercial photography. You see that kind of stuff everywhere.

Many years ago, folks where sueing Kodak when their wedding photos started to look like that, color prints fade.

LOL, that's too funny!

...I believe it though.
