What lens

I have a nikon d5100 and looking for a good lens thats good for a little distance but can shoot close as well all I have is the kit lens

budget? i'd say either 18-105 or 18-200 (if you can swing it)

I have a Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5 which serves me rather nicely. I usually carry it plus a f/1.5 prime lens when I just do random street photography.
That lens cost me around 450$ CDN.
There are several variants, make sure you get the Optically Stabalised and Auto Focus one.
