I read the thread and to be honest with you It was a little intimidating.
felt a little... Nazi regime? I dont mean to offend, no no thats not my intention at all but seriously? ive seen people with sigs that say
"READ IT, FOLLOW IT, SWEAR YOUR LIFE ON IT OR ELSE - THE PAAAACT"

ok maybe not exactly that but thats how it comes across to a new guy. Maybe its an american thing? no? did i just offend everyone again? sorry guys Im just a bit confused by it all.

a Pact is an agreement...
If you click the text you would see that,
It is the agreement to not give a heck about peoples feelings, If they ask for honest Critique, Give it, dont hold back.
If they dont want their work being brought down, Dont ask for C&C at the end of the day.
It is basically to allow us to Grow as artists by giving our true opinion and recieveing other peoples Opinions.
If we all beat around the bush and say nothing wrong about peoples work then no-one would get better.
At the end of the day, If people arent happy with the honesty in the forum, They should just stay off it,
Honesty is vital an Photography if you ever wish to improve.

Its basically guidelines for how to give and how to receive critique and criticisim on photos. Put into black and white terms:

If you are asking for C&C on a photo, don't get bent out of shape if the feedback you get is bad, feel free [in a polite manner] to say why you agree or disagree with the comments you get.

If you are giving C&C on a photo, be honest about what you think [without being rude] and don't hold back just because you don't want to hurt someone's feelings.

edit: I agree, the pact link in some of the signatures is a bit loud and intimidating. ;)
