Which DSLR is best to use?

I would say Nikon D5. Sold a couple recently to this guy who wanted to get into photography.

The first thing he asked me was: where is the auto mode?

You are joking right ?

Sadly no.
Thankfully he's also bought a 1Dx MkII so that he can make sure he didn't get the inferior brand.

unbelievable, like buying a big Mac truck to take the kids to school when you don't even have drivers license.
Buying the biggest, badest and most expensive camera assuming if its all of that then it will make the best picture or buying it to impress the guys.

It's okay. He doesn't know it yet but he'll be likely getting a limited Edition Leica or Leica SL later in the year for something less heavy to carry around.

Interesting comments. Being a novice, I went to a store with a budget in mind and compared all the models in my price range. I chose the Sony alpha 58 and am extremely happy with it. I later purchased a 50mm f/1.8 SAM DT lens to supplement the 18-55mm zoom thst came with it. As I experiment and learn more, I may need additional lenses OR a more advanced DSLR system.

First step, decide what you want to pay if you are a novice. If you are accomplished, decide what you want to do/achieve, then what you want to spend.
