Which watermark do you like?

I use to always watermark my photos, however nowadays I do not. I haven't in awhile and I'm starting to think I want to mark them again...

Not because I'm worried about someone stealing my photo or something, more of, Signing my artwork and putting on a personal touch.

What do you think?

#8 Signature. Hands down. Clean and simple. Could even be a bit smaller or I've seen ones that were more transparent and embossed, so they blend in a bit more with the background but are still visible.

I'm still working on "Vectorizing" it, but thats where I was leaning too.

6 Text - its:

1) Simple and unobtrusive - its not dominating for my attention

2) Clear and easy to read - I can easily read what it says and see the letters to be able to correctly spell it (google)



Some of the others have problems:

1) Symbols - can be funky, but unless you're seriously well known most new people seeing it won't know what it means, at that point its basically useless.

2) Clarity - some of the "hand drawn" signatures are not clear, letters might get confused and searching might not work if someone gets a letter wrong

3) Are a bit to showy - being too showy makes them vie for my attention (which you don't necessarily want).

8-Signature, but maybe just a wee bit smaller. still, with the white on dark like that, it's obnoxious.

In this image 8 is perfect, My only thought would be to shrink it a little more -

Shrink #8 and reduce it's opacity so that it's somewhat transparent. I strongly dislike big opaque watermarks that shout "look at me! look at me!". I'm not opposed to watermarks completely, but I want them to be small, unobtrusive, in the corner, and preferably only noticed when I go looking for them to find out who took the photo. If I can see who took the photo before I even have a chance to appreciate the photo... then the watermark is up-staging the image.

Watermarks are sort of like cologne... if your cologne announces your arrival before you even enter the room... you're wearing waaaaay too much.
