I took an image of an 18% gray and loaded up with the rest of the images. Opened the the gray card image and the one below and I synchronized them in Camera Raw

Does it look OK to you? I think my monitor needs calibration, or I'm just tired. If I'm missing a step, please let me know

I agree; the skin tones look very natural here. Nicely captured.

I do think it looks a bit too dark.
I suggest a couple of things.
Make it lighter on a layer, make it a tiny bit warmer.
Foe my tastes, I like warmth in portaits and a little bit of creative sharpening to give it some pop.

So Lew, by adding some warmth - would this not affect the White balance? I too like the wamth but I tend to over do it

Nice shot. White balance looks acceptable, although the overall hue in the skin tones might be a tiny bit too magenta though. I would not add any additional warmth--it's already nearing ruddy on the fleshtones. This is wonderful posing and lighting...I just wish the lens had been stopped down another two f/stops, to fully pull DOF on the nose and hair that's closest to the camera. Of course, if seen at smaller sizes, the slight lack of DOF is not noticeable.

Just now looking at this on a different screen (I am on vacation) so anything I said about WB is arguable.

But yes, adding warmth does effect the WB BUT a warmish tone to a portrait may be preferable than a dead neutral one and add a bit of spark to a drab complexion.
Nothing is 'correct', everything is to make the picture and person look terrific

I would cool it a bit and it would make her teeth whiter. But definitely raise up the exposure a bit.
