Why does an increased aperture lead to blurry photos

Our eyes see much better in low light than the camera does, so it can be hard to accurately gauge just by looking.
Depends.

With my D5100, when I use the 35mm f/1.8, its funny how bright photographs are getting.

Even stronger with the ISO 102,400 mode that only produces black and white pictures. I see hardly anything, while the camera still produces a niceish image.

And thats neither the best performing low ISO camera nor the brightest lens in existence.

I'd be will to bet $100 that the OP went up to f22 to increase the Aperture, not realizing that in order to increase the Aperture, you need to decrease the f-stop.
Try again OP, go to the lowest number you've got and see what shutter speed you get then.. :)

We have a winner! (I'm assuming..) lol...

Still waiting on a photo to see. Otherwise it is all pure speculation.
