Yeah, it's definitely hard to get a 4 year old to go to sleep when it's light out at 8:30 PM. Give me winter any day.

If they aren't tired by then, then they aren't playing hard enough during the day. Run 'em harder.

I tolerate winter. I love spring. I love summer. I love fall the most. All of the seasons come with their little hurrahs, their little groans.

I prefer the longer nights. I can't say that I like the cold weather anymore, but during the summer months I hate the longer daylight. More daylight means neighbors are out till 8:00pm running lawn mowers and weed whackers so I have to turn the volume up on my TV to hear it. I like when it gets dark at 5:00 and I can feel that the day is over with and relax for the evening. I guess I now fall into the old fart category.

I don't mind the long, cold winter nights. Gives me a chance to work on the computer instead, doing all the editing I've put off all summer and fall. Kinda nice with a cat asleep on my lap, and a cup of hot chocolate.

It's simple, really. They have this force field that literally SUCKS all the energy out of their parents and other adults around them. This is why kids seem to have more and more energy the more worn-out the parents become.
