Would you crop this photo?

My son in OBX. I normally would crop this, but I kind of think the dunes and ocean on both sides set the scene. What do you think?

You could maybe bring the left side in, but I wouldn't touch the right. As is it seems fine for a family album.

If you cropped it, I would do it portrait. But I would suggest that you check the composition and put him off to one side if you were wanting to keep some of the sand. Here is the portrait crop I did.

I disagree, not with him looking to the right. Adding more to the left would have the boy looking out the side of the photograph as opposed to looking toward the center. Plus, having his right arm pointing to the right side emphasizes the need for more space on the right. Personally I'd have placed the boy more to the left of center.

Me too, for the same reasons.

Looks like the water line is tilted so I would crop to level that out too.

I think the original is unbalanced with his arm off to one side.

By adding on the right, and cropping then his body is at one third and his fist is at the other, pulling against it.
(I would also darken his right arm)
