I'd say the same man. I'm looking at the size and shape of the sideburns. There's also a hint of something in, or on, both left shirt pockets. both man also seem to have a pronounced chin. I'd say it's the same man

Same. I first looked at the hair on the front/top of his head and how it is going across the balding dome. Then the way that his sideburns almost seem to have a cowlick that comes out into the temple.
The positioning of his stance/how he holds his shoulders and hands are the same.
Placement of the bottom of his ear in relation to the jaw line

I guess I'm just feeling skeptical today, but WHY do you want a bunch of strangers to offer their opinion on whether this is the same man? You DO know that won't hold up in court, right?
Because these look like some kind of security camera footage...saw my share of that lately when my son's girlfriend was robbed at work, and then the same guy held up four similar stores in the following week (DOLLAR stores, LOL, what a yahoo! Holding up Dollar Stores!).

Also, I'm guessing they are not even *your* photos? In which case, you shouldn't be posted them here, but instead putting a link to where they can be found.

Now, I'm gonna see about going and taking a happy pill. If only I had one of those.

I agree...they look to be quite similar WRT to all of those points of possible identification/differentiation. Of course, this could be a set-up.

Depends on the context. If you told me this was covert security camera footage, I'd say same guy -- just too many similarities to be coincidence in a normal setting. On the other hand, if this was a controlled test, say, to see if another man could be confusable in certain conditions, I'd say different.

Well, I'll say this... I am in the security business.. providing alarms, video surveillance systems, etc for banks and credit unions. Of course the men in the two pictures look similar and you could probably get a jury to agree that it's the same man. However, I have to say that this is a very poor capture from the video source. I'd say probably from an older VHS time-lapse system rather than the now-standard Digital Video Recorders with huge multi-TB hard drives. I think it could be a setup to illustrate how un-reliable this sort of evidence is. but I could be wrong.

also, it's been years since I sold a black and white ccd camera to one of my bank customers. Everything is color nowadays. With DVR's for recording. And the latest thing is I.P. cameras. The resolution on these is incredible. You would be able to tell for sure if this was the same person if they had been using that technology.

I also think that they are the same man as one thing that I noticed is the hairs through which it seems that both are same.
