I know that we have had one of these threads a long time ago but I figured we needed a new one considering the old one is full of broken links and everyone has probably changed it since then....
SO... take a screen shot of your normal desktop and post a smaller version here!
To take a screen shot just press the "Print Screen" button, it's next to F12.

Here is mine!

I keep my screen size at 1280 x 960

This is not a screen shot, I've been switching my background a lot recently...but this is what I had for about a year. It's a painting by Ted Nasmith, inspired by Tolkien.

It started off as a joke, then when I got a new monitor I was just too lazy to change it, so the icons dont fit as well now with the higher screen resolution.

Let's see. Well first obviously I use a Mac!

The picture is NOT mine. I so wish it was, but it is one of the backgrounds that Apple has included. The book folders are there because I am working on an iPhoto book and I want them handy. And I took my dock out of hiding so you would have something to look at.
