Your thoughts and Sugjestions Please

I shot these of a band a couple a weeks ago with the kit lenses on my e-500. I just got some fast glass though f1.4, which I think, will help. I appreciate your comments and suggestions!

1 and 3 I find seems under exposed..... 3 is frustrating because I can't see his eyes.... I do like number 2 though.

#4 doesn't really do anything for me and the background I find a little over cluttered so it feels distracting to me..... course that is just my opinion

#2 is very attractive, with a tighter crop and a shallower depth of focus, I think this would have been a very intense picture. I know DoF is hard to change too much in dark venues, but great job with the composition.
