For me Elephants make the perfect monochrome subject. The texture of their skin the color almost a perfect 18% grey. Cropped this to square to put more emphasis on the the young one.

I made this exposure on my second visit to this location. Having been familiar from my first visit I decided to immerse myself in the rock pools below the waterfall to create this image with a perspective of looking up and towards the start of the waterfall. After multiple bites from the...
Hi you guys,
Just a quick message to say hi! I'm a UK based landscape photographer, with a special interest in dramatic seascapes. I've been "snap happy" for as long as I can remember, but it's only been a few short years that I've actually taken this hobby a little more seriously. I'm self...
I love the spring and I love travelling around to the many different waterfalls we have here.
Sorry I've not been around or posting for a while but between work, sleep and shooting I've not had much time to edit and catch up with things here. I picked up a NiSi HUC IR ND64+CPL so been having...
So I was revisiting some of the first shots I took with the D850 and decided to re-edit a couple more in line with my current editing style..
I can't really decided which crop of this shot I prefer, what do you prefer?
Any other C&C welcomed as always, And yes, it's a shame about the...

This is the first time I'd actually attempted to capture lightning and I was pleased with the results, the only thing is I wished my balcony and the lightning were over some other part of the city, you can't win them all..
All shot on the D850 with the 24-70 2.8, All 3 have different shutter...
This is Cold River, an offshoot of the bigger Deerfield River near Charlemont, in the Berkshires. Right by the Mohawk Trail campground, and the trailheads of a few trails that we hiked.

Now, I know I've not been around on this forum for long, or indeed for a while, but I have been shooting. Had a lot go on personally over the last 12 months and I just kinda shut down.
Switched up from my D7000 > moved to a Sony A7ii for like 6 months, sold the lot and re-invested in a D850, I...
Living in Florida has its ups and downs but if you're able to find that one special road that leads to the middle of nowhere you're bound to find beauty wherever you turn. Enjoying the solitude while I explore and take some photos to practice shooting in manual. I turned my Black and White...
Hi, I am a beginner and I have a canon EOS 700d. I already own an 18-55mm, 55-250mm kit lens and the 50 mm 'nifty-fifty'.
I need suggestions to upgrade my lens kit. My requirements are - a good lens for travel photography with low light photography as a plus(I find the clarity of 18-55 not so...

Took a short walk last light during golden hour, it was so quiet too. You can hear all the critter rustling in the bushes and birds chirpings. No planes...no cars, it was just peaceful.
Took the XT2 + 60 2.4
I stepped outside before heading to bed and noticed how clear the sky was. I ran inside, grabbed the camera and tripod.
I haven't done any milky way shots with the XT2 yet. I was surprised how well it actually handled it, if I had a faster lens like the XF16mm 1.4, I could've got better shots...
Hello, everyone. I was debating on my picture style & trying to see if there were some enhancements I could utilize in my photographs. I'm going to put like 2 or 3 of, in my opinion, my best photographs, & I'd like to receive some helpful critiques or insight on what I can improve on, what I...
Hello this day i have lot of time to take pic and travel, this is some of pic taken at my hometown street.
There is to much to write and show.
My story about street life
A simple shot today to share.
I took a quick evening walk and noticed this one and only lonely buttercup just sitting there in the light asking me to take a picture of it, so I did.

Cheer Up, Buttercup by Nicholas Erwin, on Flickr
I debated where I should share this photo but I ultimately decided to place it in the b&w gallery because when I took this shot I deliberately wanted it to be in black & white.
I was walking about and noticed this tiny big chilling out on top of one of these leafs from a blooming tree and for...
I searched for a while trying to find the perfect one. There are thousands of these wild violet flowers all over my lawn. I managed to find this one that was almost all alone and had a clean background.
It's kind of simple and clean shot which is what I was going for.

Yesterday evening I happened to take a peek outside while the sun was going down and I notice a ray of light hitting this dandelion so I quickly ran inside and grabbed my camera and voila. I didn't have much time, I mean the light was gone in 30 seconds so I didn't get my settings changed fast...
Today I was able to get some hummingbirds for the first time in my bud's backyard. I just need an outside opinion on my shots though since I don't feel I can tell if they're okay, so here's a few of them! Thanks in advance!
I shot with a Nikon D7200 with a Nikkor 200-500 lens, and ISO at 2000...
An adult Bald Eagle in what I believe to be week 5 of incubating eggs. Its hard to tell if its a female or male, the two will trade off occasionally and their nearly identical birds.
Here the Eagle is either waiting on some food or a shift change...or both.

I am so proud of my self for taking this shot. I've been planning this shot for a long time and I finally nailed it! I've been wanting to get a shot of a oak leaf in a puddle with its reflection. But I could never for the life of me find an oak leaf. But I did today and there was a puddle so I...
The wife and I traveled to New England, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia this past October during which time we visited Wolfville, NS where I captured this panoramic shot and one of the two cover bridges in St Martin, New Brunswick.
