24-70 or 18-200 for traveling?

I don't have the money to buy a new lens. I do have a 50mm 1.4 I can bring, however, when I'm actually walking around I don't plan to bring a camera bag so I doubt I would be carrying the 50 or the 18-200 anyways.

I will be bringing a SB-600 for indoors but a lot of places won't allow you to use it. A lot of indoor places tell you no flash, I have no idea why.

I could rent a 12-24 lens or borrow a cheaper 10-20 Sigma maybe for wide angle shots but I don't know how I'm going to carry around a 2nd lens. Most likely I'll just end up leaving it in the hotel which is useless, might as well not bring it.

I may rent a 70-200 VRII in the other country if I find I need it for a day so I'm not really worried about the long range. Just the wide angle.
