5 Quick Ways To Tell You Are Not A Photographer Yet

we should all get together with all of this awesome-ness and blow the rest of the world away.

I'm willing to even overlook your Canon flaw.... j/k

I agree with just about everything. My only problem is the first one. There are some things a simple point-and-shoot camera can't do that an SLR can, but that doesn't mean you can't produce amazing photos with a point-and-shoot camera, I'm just saying SLR cameras (and lenses) help produce better quality photos. I would take SLR over point-and-shoot any day.

Do you take pictures?
Do you find them appealing?
Do others find them appealing?

Congratulations, you are a photographer, regardless of what some random dude on the intertubes say.

Apparently I'm 80% of a photographer, I just need to start charging and I'll be there. Anyone want to buy a photo?

I wouldn't worry too much about being dissed by this list though, he has a website where he proclaims himself to be a photographer. Therefore, by his own rules, he isn't.

I have Nikon Coolpix L120. So apparently I'm more of a photographer then some of you on here!

I've never claim to be a photographer either. But I always see this dumb posts. "I'm a pro and you are not" "just because you have a DSLR doesn't mean that you are a photographer". Well. There's people like me that enjoy photography! We like to get good products because we enjoy it. I'm not a pro at all but I could careless. I just want to learn more because it's what I enjoy doing.

Yes you can add what you want... I think that is the best part of it. There are so many things that make us think we are a photographer but most are not. I guess the question is how do you view yourself?

Looks like I'm going to have to find myself again. And I was so sure that I knew what I was too.
Damn it.

I for one LIKE being an ameture, "artistic freedom" is one. I was in the bar the other day talking to a pro, it stops being art and starts becoming a job and he started hating it.

What did mark twain have to say about this?

As for DSLRs, there are plenty of small non-slr digital cameras that can take amazing pictures now with decent sensors, and even digitally control apeture and even focus now. An SLR is great, but if you leave it on auto mode you might as well just get a point and shoot, and not have to worry about hauling around a big camera.

as for hauling around Cameras, my camera bag weighs like 20 pounds, stuffed full of old, heavy, metal, prime lenses. Its more than a little awkward, but I'm brazen enough to shoot street photography at nite, in a big city hauling around a camera bag, camera and tripod.

Try walking into a bar doing this, try walking OUT of a bar into the next bar pretty wasted doing this. accidentally banging your tripod against everything and random people.b proffesional....nah, but I got some nice photos!

#4 is the funniest. Because it say JAI CATALANO PHOTOGRAPHY in huge letters at the top of the page.

How much thought did the OP put into this?
