A 'gassy' breakfast

Sorry for the lame title. :er:

Well it was a rainy day today, and I've been meaning to expand one of my photos into a series (this one, if anyone is curious) So I figure I would take another self portraits.

Lighting:
285 through a softbox camera right
f42 slight camera left bouncing off the ceiling.

Looking for some feedback, would like to know what I could have done better!

I don't understand the "message" ? He or you.. whoever cant eat the cereal with the mask on, I know it's obvious but still I find distracting. The pp seems to have aged the image, there is something off, color or contrast ? I know the rules are meant to be broken, but the image is too centered.

For me i think its just too tight of a crop. But i like the pp and feel of it. Cool idea.

Well like I said this photo is part of a series, depicting a guy (in this case me) preforming seemingly ordinary task however he wears a mask, symbolizing how he doesn't let people who he really is. It's kind of an "out-of-the-box" picture

I purposely changed the colour and tones in post to make it look like that. May not be your thing, I get it.


Again too centered, maybe to some, not to me.

I couldn't get past the fact that you are going to end up with milk running down your neck when you try to eat your cereal. Maybe yo can try a different mask..... Hazmat with an open face?

I would be very careful with every detail you show in themed photographs like this. Everything has to precise and speaks with the intent. In this case, if I were you, I will also think about the newspaper itself. What day is it? What time is it? What happened? What's going to happen? So what I am trying to say is, everything in the photo has to be considered, right down to the reflection you see in the visor,

As for the photo you posted in the link, I am not sure if this is just coincidence or intentional, I like how the guy seems to be looking at the light reflection in the tiles. However, I hope you actually designed the light and that it said something, whether graphically, metaphorically, or through any appropriate way.
