Autumn Fluffy Seeds

I'm not sure what these are called. I thought they were milkweed but I don't think that's right. The seeds are bright white and the pods had recently opened. Here is one from our drive on Sunday.

Good perspective on these too, particularly the first. No so sure about the use of the word 'fluffy' tho. Sounds a bit eh, well fluffy
