Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
This pic is hilarious just because it captures my son's personality..had to get in there and stir things up to ruin big sis's photo.
What i'm looking for in critique here is on the PP using a vintage preset in Lightroom that I did a little adjusting to. Personally, I love this look. Did a whole set of them on some pics I took over the weekend and loved them. But not sure how others will feel about it. What say you?

It's not my cup of tea. I don't like the greenish/blue tint it gives the skin. I do dig your son's face. LOL

Did you iris enhance your sons eyes?

I think your son is hysterical in the photo. Too cute.

As for the processing, I'm not sure which Vintage presets you are using, but vintage and cross processing (this looks more like cp to me) is very "fashionable" these days, at least in my part of the world. I think it's a really cute photo, and I don't mind the processing at all. The only nit I have, and it's a small one, would be to extract that pole on the far right side of the frame.

I'm not at home to see which one exactly, but when you say cross processing, what does that mean exactly? New to this!

I have difficulty disassociating the picture style from a certain era of the 20th century. For me, it looks the early 1960's and i wonder why kids of 2011 would be portrayed like that. I understand that others may well see it differently.

Hi Mc1979,
There are several different cross processing techniques and some get a very green hue to them. Like Shufti said, it tends to give off a very 1960s polariod kind of look. It was a look that used to happen in the film days with certain processors. I'm never been a film girl, so hopefully someone with a background in film can give you a better explaination.

Anyhoo, at least in the wedding business, cross processing and vintage has become very popular. The reasons clients have given to me is that it makes the photos more like their Mom's photos, which they have always admired. Recently though, I've also seen a lot of Senior photos being done like this, and those kid's parent most likely weren't getting married at that time, so it could also be a "trend" like textures and selective coloring.....or all of the above.

Looooove the jaundiced look that's exploded in popularity these days. Gag!

It's to yellow, or put another way, the editing is overdone for my taste.

Remove the yellow tint in the highlights and it should get more interesting.

Thanks for the feedback! Will mess around it with some more :)
