Good options for a camera that can take good pictures, nikon or canon, good mega pixels 18+, not to expensive Thank you

Why not look at the nikon d5100 or d7000. They are 16mp but otherwise can be had quite affordably

Everyone kept telling me that that camera was no good ill stick with the d5300 if it is good quality but I want something good

The d800 is good and not too expensive.

oh course, dependent upon your budget which was not elaborated.
In the end you'll get the same results as before. There's no mythical hidden camera out there.

Every camera is as good as the person using it.
some have more modern technology and are more flexible.
In the end, it all comes down to budget.
and good lenses.

The camera will only capture the light that comes through the lens. The photographer is the one making the photograph. Just search for DigitalRev TV's "Pro Photographer, Cheap Camera" series.

Why does it have to be a Nikon or Canon?

What do you need 18+ MP for?

What Ido said. The best camera is the one in your hand Stop worrying about equipment and start having fun taking pictures. A "better" camera will not compensate for composition or exposure. You learn these thorough experience.

I don't think a d810 is too expensive given the results it produces. Too expensive is Leica stuff.

What are you on about, the top Leica 50mm lens will only set you back £7000

I have a D5300, and I like it quite a bit. High ISO produces low levels of noise and gives fast shutter speeds, the sensor is nice quality, photos have a high dynamic range from the camera, and there are lots of nice features.

I got one from ebay for $600. Considering dollars versus quality, I don't regret my purchase at all.

The point is, it is the photographer and a bunch of other stuff, not the camera. That said, you will have a more enjoyable time if you like the camera you are using and it is comfortable to hold and use. But, you, are the only one who can decide what camera is comfortable to hold and use. My hands are not your hands and what is comfortable to me, may not be comfortable to you.
